Capacities and Technology
Nextel Engineering provides advanced simulation
solutions based on our engineering and advanced technology services
in Modeling and Systems Simulation. We are specialized in developing
turnkey trainers with a high efficiency-cost ratio (such as FTD or
FNPT) or engineering simulators. We are also able to develop complete
subsystems for large simulation systems, such as Full Flight Simulators
(FFS) or Simulation Centres.
We provide risk-free solutions based on an intensive use of COTS elements
and international standards. Our simulation department is backed by
over 100 man-years of experience in some of the main simulation projects
developed in Spain over the past 15 years.
We have simulation solutions distributed that are compatible with
Network-Centric environments. This distribution is achieved by using
the most up to date publication-subscription standards, such as the
IEEE HLA standard or the latest DDS standard (Data Distribution Services)
by the OMG (shortly, other standards such as SOAP, web services, SQL
and CORBA will be taken on board). Nextel Engineering has an intensive
experience in developing simulators distributed based on both standards,
either by using in-house technology (NCWare? and SimWare?) or any
other commercial technology.
Our software engineering technology is designed to guarantee quality
assurance and delivery time for our solutions. Furthermore, it complies
with the most commonly used standards on the market, such as ISO,
PECAL/AQAP or CMMI. Nextel Engineering methodology is based on the

For the specific case of the development
of simulation modules, our development process is automatized in a
high productivity environment, such as the Mathworks Simulink. Our
process, supported by our SimDeveloper? tool, makes it possible to
develop simulation modules directly from engineering data packages
provided by the manufacturers of the real system concerned. With Simdeveloper,
we have the capacity to be a software factory for high reliability
modeling, in any type of system or platform (planes, avionics systems,
ships, cars or lorries).

In the field of military simulation, thanks to our Simware? technology,
we are capable of developing “scalable products”, which
allows us to introduce highly competitive, low cost products on the
market. Such is the case of our eXim I product, certified in 2008
by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation as FNPT I.
